This article covers the following topics 👇

  1. Frequently asked questions and answers about OMR Reviews reviews

  2. In-depth questions and answers about the review survey

To help your software users share their feedback, we’ve put together the most important answers to their most common questions about the review process on OMR Reviews.

How does my review help you?

Your review gives us valuable feedback that helps us continuously improve our product and service. At the same time, you help other software buyers get a realistic picture of our solution. Your review also strengthens our social proof, increases our visibility among relevant audiences, and makes our solution easier to find for companies actively looking for the right software.

Why do I need to register to submit a review? How will my email address be used?

To help OMR Reviews ensure that reviews come only from real users, you need to register with myOMR before writing a review. It’s quick and easy to do, preferably with your business email address. You can also sign up with your Google account or LinkedIn account.

OMR Reviews will contact you only in connection with your review submission. If you submit an incentivized review, OMR Reviews can send you a voucher as a thank-you as soon as your review is published. If you start a review but don’t finish it, or if it’s rejected, you’ll receive no more than three automatic reminders. After that, you won’t receive any further system notifications. Your email address won’t be used for marketing purposes or added to a newsletter mailing list.

How and when will I receive the voucher, and how can I redeem it?

OMR Reviews personally reviews every submission within 72 hours to ensure that only authentic, high-quality reviews are published.

Once your review has been approved and published, a voucher code will automatically be sent to the email address you provided. The software provider determines which type of voucher is available on OMR Reviews: Amazon or Wunschgutschein. Depending on the type of voucher, you can redeem it as follows:

  • You can redeem your Amazon voucher directly in the German store at amazon.de.

  • You can redeem your Wunschgutschein at more than 500 partner shops in Germany. Visit wunschgutschein.de for an overview of all participating shops. If you’d rather donate your voucher to a good cause, you can do so exclusively through the Wunschgutschein charity page.

How long does it take to write a review?

Depending on how familiar you are with the tool and how much detail you want to share about your experience, the survey usually takes between 5 and 10 minutes to complete.

Feel free to take a few extra minutes to write a review that’s as informative and helpful as possible. Your experience helps other people looking for software make informed decisions. It also helps ensure that your review meets the minimum requirements and can be published.

My review was rejected. Why, and what can I do now?

In some cases, a review may be rejected because it doesn’t meet the OMR Reviews review guidelines. Don’t worry: if your review doesn’t yet meet all the requirements, you can edit and resubmit it at any time. Simply use the review link you received from the software provider to return to the review survey, update your review, and submit it again. If your review is rejected, you’ll also receive up to three automatic email notifications from OMR Reviews that take you directly back to the review survey.

The most common reason for rejection is that a review contains too few distinct points or too much repetition, which makes it insufficiently informative. A review may also be rejected if the text shows strong signs of AI generation and sounds unnatural, for example in its wording, structure, or excessive use of emojis. It’s perfectly fine to get help, but make sure your personal tone comes through.

In-depth questions and answers about the review survey

How do I write a valuable review?

Share your personal experience with the tool. Be specific about what you like most, where you see room for improvement, and what problems you can solve with the software.

Make sure your answers are helpful and cover distinct points. Ideally, answer all three guiding questions in detail, either in paragraph form or as clearly worded bullet points. Important: At least one of your answers should include three distinct points. This helps you meet the OMR Reviews review guidelines and ensures that your review can be published.

The review survey also provides helpful guidance to support you as you write your answers.

Tips for question 1: What do you like best?

What’s most helpful? Describe the benefits of using the tool in at least three sentences or fully written-out bullet points. Make sure to include three distinct points and avoid repetition.

Here, you can talk about the different aspects of the product and service that stand out to you. Ideally, describe specific experiences from your everyday work and explain the value the tool provides. For example:

  • Features and meeting your needs

Describe how the tool meets your professional or business needs and helps you achieve your goals or solve key challenges. Mention specific features you use often or that provide clear value. Explain what tasks you can complete with these features, how they support your workflow, and whether they help you save time, automate processes, or achieve better results.

  • Ease of use

Describe how intuitive the tool is and how easy it is to find your way around. This could include a clear user interface (UI), logically organized menus, or an overall pleasant user experience that makes it easier to get started and work with the tool every day.

  • Easy setup

Talk about the implementation process. Was setup quick and straightforward? Are there useful integrations, interfaces, or plug-ins that make it easy to add the tool to your existing systems?

  • Customer support

Share your experience with the tool provider’s support, for example during implementation, onboarding, or day-to-day use. Relevant aspects include response times, how focused the support team is on finding solutions, and the help you get from dedicated contacts such as Customer Success or Key Account Managers.

Tips for question 2: What don’t you like?

What’s less helpful? Describe in at least three sentences or fully written-out bullet points where Webgains could be improved. Include three distinct points and avoid repetition.

Here, you can share constructive feedback about areas you think could be improved. Ideally, describe specific situations from your everyday work and explain why these points matter to you. For example:

  • Features or missing functionality

  • Navigation or ease of use

Perhaps some parts of the tool aren’t very intuitive, or it took you a while to find your way around. You can describe what could be improved about the navigation, structure, or usability.

  • Performance or stability

If you sometimes experience long loading times, technical issues, or bugs, you can describe them here. Explain when they occur and how they affect your work.

  • Setup or integrations

Did you run into any challenges during implementation? Or are you missing certain integrations or interfaces with other tools you use?

  • Support or communication

If you see room for improvement in the support or communication provided by the vendor, you can mention that too, for example response times, proposed solutions, or the availability of contacts.

Important: Keep your feedback as objective and specific as possible. Constructive suggestions help software providers improve their products and are especially helpful to other users.

Why do I have to provide my company name?

Providing your company name is a required field in the review survey. This serves two main purposes:

  1. Authenticity and verification: Our team manually reviews every review. Your company name helps us authenticate and publish your review more easily.

  2. More value for other users: Reviews from real users at real companies are especially valuable. People looking for software can better understand your experience and more easily assess whether the software is suitable for their own company and use cases.

If you’re not allowed to make your company name public, please still enter it in the survey and add “(please anonymize)”. This allows the OMR Reviews validation team to review your submission easily and manually anonymize your company name before publication.

How does the 0 to 10 rating scale in the survey work?

The rating scale in the survey is based on the Net Promoter Score (NPS), a globally recognized standard for measuring customer satisfaction. It answers one key question:

“How likely are you to recommend the tool to someone who’s interested in the product?”

The scale ranges from 0 (not at all likely) to 10 (extremely likely). This lets you express how satisfied you are and how likely you are to recommend the tool on a precise scale.

Understanding Net Promoter Scores

NPS 9 to 10
You’re a promoter.

NPS 7 to 8
You’re neutral.

NPS 0 to 6
You’re a detractor.

You rate the tool very positively and would recommend it without hesitation.

You rate the tool neutrally and would recommend it only in certain circumstances.

You rate the tool critically and wouldn’t recommend it at this time.

To make it easier to understand and visualize your Net Promoter Score (NPS) on OMR Reviews, we display it alongside your review as a 5-star rating:

  • An NPS of 9 to 10 corresponds to 4.5 to 5 stars.

  • An NPS of 7 to 8 corresponds to 3.5 to 4 stars.

  • An NPS of 0 to 6 corresponds to 0 to 3.5 stars.

What exactly does the question about “purposes” in the review survey mean, and which ones should I select?

In the review survey, you’ll be asked what you use our tool for. You can select one or more options using the checkboxes in the dropdown menu, depending on how you actually use the software in your day-to-day work.

The purposes you can select correspond to the software categories in which our tool is listed on OMR Reviews. Your selection determines which of these categories your review will be included in.

Specifically, for every purpose you select, our tool receives an additional review with your feedback in the corresponding category. This means your selection directly affects the OMR Score, including the number, average, and recency of reviews. This score determines how tools are ranked within a category and plays a major role in our tool’s visibility in those categories.
