- What happens during the 90-minute live session
- Your role as a software provider
Finding the right software can be a lengthy process for many companies. Potential customers often get in touch with providers very late in their buying journey, when the shortlist is already in place. OMR Reviews Tool Talks start earlier. They give you a platform to present your solution to decision-makers who are actively exploring their options.
What are Tool Talks?
A Tool Talk is a live software comparison in webinar format. The goal is to let viewers compare solutions directly within a specific software category, such as CRM, marketing automation, or project management.
Up to four providers present their solutions one after another in each session. The format also includes independent industry experts who provide context on the market and highlight relevant aspects to consider when evaluating the solutions.
The focus isn’t on a traditional sales competition, but on putting different tools into the context of how they’re used. This gives participants a better basis for evaluating which solution fits their specific needs.
Several Tool Talks are often grouped together into a themed Tool Talk Week. These weeks feature multiple sessions on a broader topic over consecutive days.

The format: 90 minutes at a glance
Each Tool Talk follows a clear structure that provides both context and practical insights:
Introduction & market trends (approx. 10–15 min.)
Experts give an overview of the topic, explain current developments, and highlight relevant selection criteria.
Tool pitches (approx. 30–40 min.)
Each provider gets a dedicated slot (11 minutes) to present their solution. The pitch usually includes a short presentation and a brief live demo of the tool.
Q&A & panel discussion (approx. 45 min.)
During this interactive segment, providers answer questions from the live chat and talk with participants.
Your role: the tool pitch
Your pitch is a key part of your appearance at the Tool Talk. The goal is to give viewers a clear understanding of how your solution can be used in practice.
A compelling pitch usually includes three elements:
Specific use cases
Focus on typical use cases and show which specific challenges your tool can help address.
Live look at the tool
A short walkthrough of the user interface helps viewers understand the features and how the tool is used.
Clear positioning
Show which audiences, requirements, or use cases your solution is best suited for.
