Configure Pay-Per-Click ads on OMR Reviews articles to reach target audiences and pay only for actual clicks on Germany's largest software platform

Frequently Asked Questions About OMR Reviews PPC Service

Pay-per-Click Service

1. Do you offer a Pay-per-Click model (PPC)?

Yes - our Pay-per-Click service gives you the opportunity to run various ad formats on OMR Reviews, the largest German-language software information platform. The best part: you only pay for clicks that actually happen! You can find more details here.

2. How does the PPC service work?

Your PPC ads are integrated through placements at various locations on OMR Reviews. Our experts are happy to advise you on your options.

3. How do I get started with the PPC service?

Contact your OMR Reviews account manager or our Customer Support Team. You can find a step-by-step guide to setting up your PPC ad on OMR Reviews here.

Article Placements

1. How can I get placed in articles with PPC?

Organic placements are reserved for the leading tools in a software category. Through our PPC service, you can additionally run ads in dedicated, target-audience-specific articles in our high-reach ContentHub. You can find an example here. For more information, feel free to contact your OMR Reviews account manager or book a consultation call with our PPC team. We're happy to tell you about your placement options and send you suitable article suggestions to choose from.

Even after your PPC ads go live, we can set up additional placements in other relevant articles. If you have specific requests, just send us the article URLs via email to cs-reviews@omr.com - or we can send you additional suitable suggestions.

3. Can my banner be placed higher up in articles?

We place great importance on fair placements for all our partners. If you'd like your banner to appear higher up in certain articles, just let us know - we'll review your request.

4. Can my PPC ads be removed from certain articles?

Yes - just send us the article URLs you want removed via a quick email to cs-reviews@omr.com. We'll take care of the rest.

5. Which pages are my ads actually running on?

Your ads are served dynamically by category and article, so there's no fixed, permanent list of specific URLs. Here's how you can get a good overview:

  • Check for yourself: Filter the ContentHub by the categories that are set up on your software profile. That's exactly where your ads will run, along with the corresponding comparison pages.
  • Request example URLs: We're happy to give you specific example pages - this is a snapshot, not a permanent list.
  • In the Dashboard: There you'll see the type of placement (abbreviations like CH, CP, PDP, ATP, RB, TL), not the individual URL. You can find out what these abbreviations mean in the article about the OMR Reviews PPC Dashboard.

PPC Banners

1. Can you create banners for my PPC ads?

Yes - if you don't want to create your own banner design, we're happy to do it for you at no cost. Our design team makes sure your banner looks professional and displays perfectly on all devices. You can find more information here.

2. Can I create my own banners for my PPC ads?

Yes, you can create banners in your own design. Please follow these requirements:

  • Height: 500 px
  • Width: 1016 px
  • The banner must include an "Ad" label in one of the corners.
  • It must include a call-to-action.
  • We recommend incorporating trust or social proof elements.

You can find an example banner here.

You can find more information about creating banners for your PPC ads here. Our partner adfriends is also happy to help you create professional ad materials for your PPC placements.

3. Can I run multiple banners at the same time?

Yes - just let us know if you'd like to run multiple banners at once. For example, you can run your own design and a banner we created in parallel: the version that performs better will then be shown more frequently.

4. Are animated banners allowed?

Yes, animated elements or GIFs are generally allowed - they just need to comply with our guidelines and requirements.

5. How long does it take for my banner to go live?

Once we receive all the necessary information and files, your banner will be activated shortly.

6. How can I exchange my banners?

We're happy to help you swap out your banners. Send us the new files via email to cs-reviews@omr.com and include the following information:

  • Banner headline
  • Text
  • Call-to-Action (CTA)
  • Desired positions

If you're looking for support in creating high-quality ad materials and want to commission them, our partner adfriends is here to help. You can also find more information about creating banners for your PPC ads here.

PPC Dashboard

1. Why doesn't my PPC Dashboard login work?

We're happy to set up additional access to the OMR Reviews PPC Dashboard for you. Just contact our support team via email at cs-reviews@omr.com and provide your first and last name as well as your email address for creating the additional access.

3. Can you create a click report including costs for me?

You can easily view and export your click and cost reporting directly in the OMR Reviews PPC Dashboard.

Here's how it works:

  1. Open the Analytics tab in the Dashboard.
  2. Select the time period you want to analyze under Period.
  3. Set your grouping under Group by - for example by banner or by day.
  4. Click Run Report.

The data will be displayed in table format and can be downloaded as PDF, CSV, or XLSX using the export icons. You'll find a detailed explanation of all areas and metrics in the article about the OMR Reviews PPC Dashboard.

4. Why does the click count in the Dashboard differ from my invoice?

This isn't an error, it's intentional: we only bill clicks from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The Dashboard, on the other hand, shows you all registered clicks, including international traffic. These don't cost you anything, but they're included in the total.

The click count in the Dashboard is therefore regularly higher than the number of billed clicks. What matters for your invoice is the billed clicks from the DACH region multiplied by your agreed click price (CPC). If you want to trace this exactly, we're happy to break down the billed clicks for you - just write to cs-reviews@omr.com.

5. Why does my own analytics show fewer visits than the Dashboard?

Both systems measure different things: the PPC Dashboard counts clicks on your ad, while your analytics (such as Google Analytics) counts sessions on your landing page. That's why the Dashboard number is practically always higher.

Typical reasons include:

  • Users leave the page before the analytics script loads.
  • Cookie consent is rejected or an ad blocker prevents tracking.
  • Redirect chains lose referrer and UTM parameters.
  • Analytics is filtered strictly on specific UTM values.
  • International clicks often don't show up in a DACH-focused report.
  • Ad servers and analytics filter automated traffic according to different rules.

We're happy to review your UTM setup and the quality of your placements together - just get in touch at cs-reviews@omr.com.

PPC Budget, Invoice & Contract

1. What happens if my PPC budget is exceeded?

Your agreed monthly budget is a ceiling - we won't charge you anything beyond that budget. Specifically, this means:

  • Once the monthly budget is reached, your campaigns are automatically paused.
  • At the beginning of the month, they're automatically reactivated - you don't need to do anything.
  • You'll receive your invoice at the beginning of the following month.

If your budget regularly runs out before the end of the month, we're happy to review with you how to use it more effectively - for example by selecting specific categories and placements.

2. How can I increase or optimize my PPC budget?

We're excited about your interest in expanding your PPC budget. We're happy to recommend additional placement opportunities in a personal conversation. Feel free to book a consultation call with our PPC team.

3. How can I adjust invoice details?

Just send us an email to cs-reviews@omr.com with your requested changes. We'll review your request and get back to you as quickly as possible.

4. How can I request PPC invoices again?

Just send us a quick email to cs-reviews@omr.com with details about which invoices you'd like to receive again. We'll send them to you as soon as possible.

5. How long is my PPC contract?

You can find the contract term in your contract. If you have any questions or uncertainties, feel free to reach out to us anytime - we're here to help.

6. How can I cancel my PPC contract?

The minimum term is 12 months. Cancellation is possible in writing up to 4 weeks before the end of the contract term - preferably via email to cs-reviews@omr.com. If you don't cancel within the required timeframe, the contract automatically extends for another 12 months.
