General information and preparation
Who should speak about my tool?
Choose a motivated, German-speaking colleague who feels comfortable presenting in front of an audience. Since the focus is on practical experience, colleagues from Solution Consulting, Customer Success, or Product Management are often a particularly good fit.
What do you need from us in advance?
Before the Tool Talk, we’ll need:
- Your speaker’s name, email address, and headshot (6 to 8 weeks beforehand)
- Your high-resolution logo (6 to 8 weeks beforehand)
- The completed questionnaire about your preferred target audiences (ICPs) (6 to 8 weeks beforehand)
- Your presentation (no later than 1 week beforehand)
Is there a joint meeting before the Tool Talk?
Yes. We’ll use a Doodle poll to find a time that works for everyone involved in the Tool Talk. The meeting will take place around 2 weeks before the Tool Talk.
This meeting gives everyone a chance to meet beforehand, discuss the industry expert’s questions, clarify any general questions, and test the webinar tool.
Who’s behind the Tool Talks, and who can I contact if I have questions?
Each Tool Talk is supported by a team that makes sure everything runs smoothly, from the initial planning through to the live event.
Strategy and organization
This team coordinates everything, from the topics covered in the talks to their practical implementation:
- Liz: She’s responsible for the Tool Talks overall. Liz guides the format strategically and manages our industry experts.
- Madlin & Caro: They’re your project management experts. They make sure the Tool Talks are perfectly prepared, both in terms of timing and content, and support you throughout the live events.
Sales support and account management
Still deciding whether a Tool Talk is right for your marketing strategy, or ready to book a slot? Kim and Ove are your first points of contact:

Presentation
Is there a presentation template?
Yes, we’ll send you a Google Slides template. It’s structured to guide you through your 10-minute slot and provide a consistent experience for viewers. You can work directly in the template.
Please use the template in Google Slides, not PowerPoint or another application, and stick to our design. This helps us provide viewers with a consistent, as-neutral-as-possible experience. Your logo will, of course, be added to the slides containing your content.
We’ll upload your presentation as a PDF to our webinar platform and send it to participants afterward, so please don’t include any videos or animations. If that isn’t possible, you can share your screen to show your slides.
Do I have to follow the presentation structure we provide?
Please follow the outline we provide as closely as possible:
- Who is your tool for?
- Use case
- How your tool solves a problem
You don’t have to use the exact number of slides provided. If you need 1 or 2 extra slides for your content, feel free to use the additional layout slides.
What do you mean by a use case?
Experience shows that practical examples resonate with our audience.
Your chosen use case can be fictional or real (if you’re allowed to use it). It should describe a problem that your tool can solve. This type of presentation gives viewers an easy introduction to your tool and how it works, while also making it easier to compare tools.
Can I include QR codes, offers for my tool, or my contact details?
Unfortunately, that’s not possible! The Tool Talk isn’t a traditional sales pitch. You should convince viewers with your product’s USPs.
We also want to give every tool the same opportunity to present, regardless of the offers made by others.
On the day of the live event
What does the schedule look like on the day of the event?
On the day of the Tool Talk, we’ll meet in the virtual waiting room at 9:15 a.m. This gives us time to run a final tech check and help everyone feel at ease.
The Tool Talk officially starts at 9:30 a.m. and runs until 11:00 a.m. or 11:30 a.m., depending on the number of tools. Please allow around 10 minutes after the official end of the Tool Talk. If there are lots of questions during the Q&A, we’ll have time to answer them all.
Who controls the slides during the presentation?
You’re in control and will move through your slides yourself in our webinar platform, Webinargeek. We’ll test exactly how this works during the joint preparation meeting, around 1 to 2 weeks before the event.
If you’d like to give viewers a live look at your tool, please let us know before the Tool Talk. We’ll make sure you’re given permission to share your screen at the right moment.
Can I do a live demo or share my screen?
Yes, you can share your screen and show your tool. This is optional, but we highly recommend it. Experience shows that a short live demo makes your tool easier to understand and is well received by viewers.
Please let us know before the Tool Talk if you’d like to show your tool live.
Can I influence the experts’ questions?
Yes! You’ll get to see the industry experts’ questions in advance, and we’ll discuss them during a joint meeting. You can also choose a question you’d like to be asked, and we’ll make sure it’s asked after your pitch.
Of course, we can’t control the questions viewers ask in the live chat. However, if there are any questions you’d rather not answer, just let us know. The moderator won’t ask you those questions.
You can simply send us a quick message in the speakers-only chat in the webinar platform. We’ll explain where to find it before the webinar. Only the speakers can use this chat, and you can also use it to communicate with one another during the Tool Talk.
How do we handle questions in the chat?
The OMR Reviews team sorts the questions behind the scenes. During the final panel discussion, the experts will direct them to the right person. If you can’t answer a question straight away, that’s no problem. It’s perfectly fine to refer people to your support team or website.
Do I need to keep my camera on the whole time?
While other tools are presenting, all the other speakers turn off their cameras and microphones. This keeps the focus on the tool being presented. All cameras are turned on during the introductions and panel discussion. Each speaker turns on their microphone when it’s their turn to speak.
How can I make sure my audio and video quality are good?
Please make sure you’re in a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed. Don’t use Apple AirPods, as we’ve found that they can pick up background noise. During the Tool Talk, always mute your microphone when you’re not speaking.
Make sure you have a professional-looking background. If the room behind you looks too busy, please use the blur setting in your video settings.
Can I test the technology before the Tool Talk?
Yes, we’ll test the webinar platform together during the preparation meeting. You can also use the test link from that meeting as often as you like to test things on your own. You’ll find the link in the calendar invitation for the Tool Talk. It’s labeled as a test link, and the URL always ends in “dry_run”.

When and how will we receive the contact information?
We’ll prepare the contact details after the event. If you booked them as part of your package, you’ll get access to them shortly afterward.
On the day of the Tool Talk, we’ll send you access to the portal containing potential customers. There, you can select the number of contacts that fits your budget and that you’re interested in. At first, these contacts are anonymized. You’ll be able to see the following information:

Once you’ve finalized and confirmed your contact selection, the full contact details will automatically appear in the portal. You can then get in touch with the contacts. You can also check out our tips for successful outreach.
Will there be a recording of the event?
Yes, the entire Tool Talk will be recorded. After the event, we’ll email the recording and slides to everyone who registered and gave their double opt-in consent, including those who couldn’t attend live.
Depending on the Tool Talk package you booked, we may also send you a recording. Please note that you can only reuse the recording if you booked this option. When using it, please also follow the agreed purposes and usage period.
