Dashboard: Your performance overview

The Dashboard tab is your homepage. Its widgets and tables give you a quick overview of your campaigns’ current performance.

Visual overview (top)

Here you can see how your campaigns are performing at a glance:

  • Yesterday’s performance: In the top left, you’ll find a quick summary of the previous day. You can immediately see whether you received clicks, how much you spent, your eCPM, and how many impressions were served.
  • 7-day trend: The charts show the trends for costs, impressions, and eCPM over the last seven days.

Pro tip: Hover over a chart to see the exact values for each day, such as the precise cost on a specific date.

Detailed analysis (below)

Below the charts, you’ll find the “Current Month Analytics” table with the detailed figures.

  • Quick date range selection: Use the buttons (“Today”, “Yesterday”, “Current Month”, “Last Month”) to filter the table instantly.
  • Drill-down: The table is organized hierarchically. Click the small arrows (▶) next to a name to expand the view:
    1. Advertiser
    2. Campaign (for example, a specific Content Hub campaign)
    3. Banner (the individual ad)

Understanding campaign abbreviations

To help you quickly see where your ads are running, the table uses the following placement abbreviations:

  • CH (Content Hub): Banners in editorial Content Hub articles.
  • CP (Comparison Pages): Placements on comparison pages where several software providers are compared.
  • PDP (Product Detail Page): A placement as a “Top Alternative” on another software provider’s profile.
  • ATP (Alternative-to-Page): A placement as a “Top Alternative” on pages listing suitable alternatives to other software providers.
  • RB (Recommendation Box): A featured box in Content Hub articles that recommends software in your category.
  • (TL) Textlink: Text links where your software is mentioned in the text of a Content Hub article. These link to both your OMR Reviews profile and your landing page. Clicks to your profile are free, and only clicks to your landing page are charged.

The Dashboard shows the type of placement, not the URL of each individual article. Your ads are served dynamically based on category and article, so there isn’t a fixed list of individual pages. If you’d like to see specific examples, we’d be happy to share them.

Analytics: Custom reports and exports

In the Analytics tab, you can run in-depth analyses and create reports tailored to your needs.

Configure your report

Create your report using the following filters:

  • Period (Zeitraum): Choose a preset such as “Last 7 days” or set an exact start and end date using “Custom Range”.
  • Group by (Gruppierung): Sort your report by parameters such as “Banner” or “Day”. For example, you can break down a whole month’s performance by day.

Create and export

  1. Click Run Report to generate a table based on your filters.
  2. Use the export icons in the top right to download your data:
    • PDF: Ideal for sharing with colleagues or stakeholders.
    • CSV / XLSX: Perfect for further processing in Excel or your own tracking tools.

Use templates

Need to use a particular view often, such as “Last 3 months grouped by campaigns”? Click Save report template and give your template a name. The next time you visit, you can load those filters again with a single click.

How to read your costs

Not every click in the Dashboard is charged

Only clicks from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland are charged. The Dashboard shows all recorded clicks, including international traffic. These clicks don’t cost you anything, but they are included in the total.

That’s why the click count in the Dashboard is regularly higher than the number of charged clicks. Your invoice is based on the charged clicks from the DACH region multiplied by your agreed cost per click (CPC).

eCPM is not a price

The eCPM is often mistaken for the billing rate. Your billing model is based on a fixed cost per click (CPC): charged clicks × CPC. The eCPM, on the other hand, is just a derived metric (costs ÷ impressions × 1,000). It fluctuates with the number of impressions and is not a price we charge.

Budget and remaining budget

  • The Dashboard shows the costs incurred for each campaign. It doesn’t display a separate remaining budget. You can calculate it by subtracting your costs to date from your agreed monthly budget.
  • Once you reach your monthly budget, your campaigns pause automatically and resume at the start of the next month. You won’t be charged more than your agreed budget.
  • You’ll receive your invoice at the beginning of the following month.

Why your own analytics show different figures

The Dashboard counts clicks on your ad, while your own analytics count sessions on your landing page. The number in the Dashboard is therefore almost always higher. For example, users may leave the page before the analytics script loads, decline cookie consent, have an ad blocker enabled, or lose UTM parameters during redirects. The two systems may also filter automated traffic differently. We’d be happy to review your UTM setup with you.

The most important PPC KPIs

To help you interpret the data in the Dashboard and your reports correctly, here’s an explanation of the key metrics:

KPINameMeaning and calculation
ImpressionsImpressionsThe number of times your ad was seen. This shows how often your ad was served on a user’s screen.
ClicksClicksThe total number of users who actively clicked on your ad. This also includes international clicks that aren’t charged.
CTRClick-through rateThe percentage of impressions that resulted in clicks. It’s an indicator of how relevant your ad is. (Formula: clicks / impressions × 100)
eCPMEffective cost per mille (CPM)The cost per thousand impressions. It shows the average cost of 1,000 impressions of your ad. (Formula: costs / impressions × 1,000)
ChargesCostsThe total cost in euros for serving your campaigns during the selected period.
