  3. What your role is as a tool provider

Finding the right software is a lengthy process for many companies. Often, potential customers only get in touch with providers very late in the buying journey, when the shortlist is already set. OMR Reviews Tool Talks take a different approach. They offer a platform where you can present your solution to decision-makers who are actively exploring their options right now.

What are Tool Talks?

A Tool Talk is a live software comparison in webinar format. The goal is to enable viewers to compare solutions directly within a specific software category (such as CRM, marketing automation, or project management).

Up to four providers present themselves one after another per session. The format is complemented by neutral industry experts who contextualize the market and highlight relevant aspects for evaluating the solutions.

The focus isn't on a traditional sales competition, but rather on positioning different tools within their respective use cases. This gives participants a better foundation for assessing which solution fits their specific requirements.

Multiple Tool Talks are often bundled together into a thematic Tool Talk Week. In this format, several sessions on an overarching topic take place on consecutive days.

The flow: 90 minutes at a glance

A Tool Talk follows a clear structure that enables both contextualization and concrete insights:

Intro & Market Trends (approx. 10-15 min)

Experts give an overview of the topic, contextualize current developments, and highlight relevant selection criteria.

Tool Pitches (approx. 30-40 min)

Each provider gets a fixed slot (11 minutes) to present their solution. The pitch typically includes a short presentation and a compact live walkthrough of the tool.

Q&A & Panel Discussion (approx. 45 min)

In the interactive part, the providers answer questions from the live chat and engage in dialogue with participants.

Your part: The tool pitch

Your pitch is a central element of your appearance within the Tool Talk. The goal is to give viewers a clear understanding of how your solution can be put to practical use.

A convincing pitch typically includes three elements:

Concrete use cases

Focus on typical application scenarios and show what specific challenges your tool can address.

Live walkthrough of the tool

A short tour through the user interface helps make functions and context of use understandable.

Clear positioning

Show which target groups, requirements, or use cases your solution is particularly suited for.

For preparation, we'll provide you with a structured briefing and a presentation template you can use as a guide.
