The dashboard is a leading indicator and diagnostic tool, not a replacement for a mature SEO/AI strategy. If AI Visibility should become a central channel for you, talk to your Customer Success Manager.
How current is the data in the dashboard?
The data is updated daily. Rankscale sends your curated prompt set to all tracked AI engines every day, collects the responses, and writes the results to your dashboard. When you open the dashboard in the morning, you'll see the latest data from the previous night's runs.
Why can't I edit anything in the dashboard?
You're working with a read-only shared view. That means you can set all filters, view charts, export data, and scroll through tables. But you can't add widgets, change the layout, or save new views. These settings are managed centrally by your OMR team.
Why do I only see one view and no other saved views?
Right now there's exactly one pre-configured custom dashboard view that bundles all the relevant widgets for AI visibility reporting. If your reporting needs a specific additional perspective (like an engine-specific dashboard), reach out to your Customer Success Manager.
How long is the shared link valid?
In the top right corner of the header, you'll see an expiration date (for example, "expires 15.5.2026"). Your share link works until that date. This link is automatically refreshed so your dashboard access won't be interrupted.
How many queries are being tracked for me, and which ones?
It depends on your setup. At the start, you work with your Customer Success Manager to put together a curated set of 5 prompts that covers typical buyer questions in your category. You can see which queries these are in the All Queries filter in the dashboard.
Can we add or swap out queries or competitors?
Yes. Talk to your Customer Success Manager if:
- your category has changed (for example, new sub-use cases have emerged)
- a new relevant competitor has entered the market
- you're expanding into a new region or language and need specific queries for it
- you see queries that never get hits and want to replace them with better ones
Changes to the prompt set are usually bundled and made quarterly so your reporting stays consistent.
Why do the values differ so much between engines?
Each AI engine works differently. They use their own models, their own sources, their own ranking logic, and their own web grounding. That's why AI Visibility isn't classic single-channel reporting, but rather a comparison of different answer systems.
The differences mainly come from three factors:
- Which sources an engine draws from
- How much it includes current web results
- How it prioritizes brands, providers, and content in answers
This means a brand can be highly visible in one engine and barely show up in another.
- Google AI Overview is tightly connected to Google Search and the sources ranked there.
- Google AI Mode generates answers with a more conversational focus and can use different sources or weightings than traditional AI Overviews.
- Google Gemini is based on Google's own model family and uses different grounding and source logic depending on usage context.
- ChatGPT combines model knowledge with web search and can prioritize different sources depending on the query.
- Perplexity works heavily source-based and often displays multiple external sources per answer.
- Bing Copilot is closely tied to Microsoft's search and answer systems, which means it can find different results and sources than Google or ChatGPT.

Why do the values in the 7-day filter look so different from the 3-month filter?
In the 7-day filter you're seeing a snapshot. AI models don't respond deterministically, so daily values fluctuate a lot. Your brand might have zero mentions one day, five the next, and zero again the week after.
Starting at 3 months this noise smooths out. You'll see more stable values that reflect real trends. Rule of thumb: For reporting to stakeholders, use at least 3 months with weekly aggregation, not 7 days.
If a stakeholder asks you about a daily value, always steer the conversation toward the trend over several weeks. Daily values are rarely reliable.
What should I do if my Visibility Score drops?
A dropping Visibility Score usually has one of three causes:
- Detection Rate drops = AI models mention you less often. Lever: build awareness through listicles, PR, reviews.
- Position drops = you're mentioned further down. Lever: strengthen your sources (for example, more reviews, better comparison content).
- Sentiment drops = the tone gets worse. Lever: check which source is currently dominant and whether negative posts are showing up.
In the Brand Performance Chart you can toggle between Detection Rate, Position, and Sentiment Score one after another to see which component is driving your score. From there, you can figure out the right action to take.
