What the Top 100 Ranking in OMR Manager shows

The Top 100 Ranking is a separate view for each tool in OMR Manager. You’ll find it in the left-hand navigation under Software & Tools, in the menu for your product, under „Top 100 Ranking".

There, you can see four things at a glance: your current placement, the placement of all other tools, your pinned competitors for a direct comparison, and actions you can take to improve your standing. The ranking is a snapshot and changes continuously as you and other tools collect more reviews. The view is updated several times a day.

One important thing to keep in mind: it’s not just the number of reviews you collect that matters, but also how highly you’re rated. A tool with fewer reviews can rank ahead of you if its average star rating is higher. Both values factor into the OMR Score, which determines your placement.

Which reviews count toward the ranking

The ranking for a given year includes all published reviews submitted in the previous calendar year, from January 1 to December 31.

Four rules determine which reviews count:

  • The submission date is what matters, not the publication date. What counts is when the review was submitted.
  • Updated reviews count too. If a reviewer updates an older review during the current year, it counts toward the ranking using the date of the update.
  • Rejected reviews don’t count. Reviews that don’t pass our quality check are not included in the ranking or your score.

When planning for the end of the year, it’s important to understand the difference between submission and publication. Every review goes through our quality check after it’s submitted, and that process can extend into the new year. A review submitted on December 31 and published in January still counts toward the ranking for the year it was submitted. So you don’t need to worry about losing reviews submitted in the last few days of December.

The fact that updated reviews count just like new ones is something most providers overlook. If you already have a lot of reviews from previous years, getting those reviews updated is often a faster way to move up than collecting entirely new customer reviews.

Your placement in the dashboard

The „Top 100 Ranking" card in the OMR Manager Dashboard shows one row for each tool.

Each row shows:

  • The tool name and its current placement underneath.
  • The average star rating and the number of reviews that count
  • The „Zum Ranking" button, which takes you straight to the full view for that tool

Tools without any reviews that count for the current year are marked „Noch nicht platziert" on the card.

A countdown at the bottom of the card tells you how many days you have left in the current year to collect reviews. It counts down to December 31, since the collection period ends with the calendar year.

The table

The table lists all ranked tools across four columns:

  • Platz → the tool’s current position in the ranking
  • Tool → the name of the tool
  • Sterne → the average star rating from reviews that count
  • Anzahl Bewertungen → the number of reviews that count toward the current ranking

Your own tool is pinned at the top as FIXIERT and stays visible no matter which page of the table you’re on. Use the pagination at the bottom to browse the list, or change how many tools are displayed at once using „Zeilen pro Seite".

The list includes all ranked tools, not just the top 100. This means you can see your exact position even if you’re still a long way from the Top 100. That makes the view useful for tracking your progress.

Search and “Meine Position”

Use the „Tool suchen" search field to jump straight to a specific tool. It’s the quickest way to check the tools you’re comparing yourself with. You can clear the search with one click to return to the full list.

The „Meine Position" button takes you back to the table page where your own tool appears. This lets you see not only your position, but also the tools immediately above and below you, including their star ratings and review counts. That gives you a reliable answer to the question of how many reviews separate you from the next group.

Pin competitors and track them in the comparison view

You can pin the tools you’re comparing yourself with directly from the ranking table. To do this, click the pin icon in the row for the tool you want to pin. Pinned tools appear in a separate Vergleichs-Tab. Comparison actions are highlighted in color, making them easy to spot and tell apart in the table.

There, you can see your key competitors together with their placement, star rating, and number of reviews, without having to search for them each time. This makes it easy to see who’s moving ahead of you or falling behind, so you can align your campaigns accordingly.

The outdated reviews notice

Below the table, a separate card shows how many outdated reviews your tool has, along with the „Veraltete Bewertungen ansehen" button. Use it to go straight to the section where you can invite reviewers to update their reviews.

How to create a Top 100 campaign

Click „Top 100 Kampagne erstellen" in the top-right corner of the ranking view to start a review campaign tailored to the ranking. The form is the same as for any other review campaign, but some fields are filled in for you.

The “Create new campaign” form with the campaign name, language, duration, incentive options, and personalized invitation pre-filled.png

Step 1: Check the campaign name

The name is prefilled as “Top 100 Ranking [Jahr]” and must be between 3 and 40 characters long. The name is only visible internally. If you’re collecting reviews across multiple channels at the same time, add the channel to the name so you can later see which channel generated the reviews.

Step 2: Set the language and duration

Under Kampagnensprache, choose whether reviewers will see the form in German or English. The Startdatum is set to the current day, and the Enddatum is optional.

Keep in mind that there are two different deadlines: your campaign must fall within your contract term, and the note below the date field tells you the relevant date. For the ranking, reviews must also be submitted by December 31.

Step 3: Choose an incentive

You have three options: no incentive, a €20 voucher for wunschgutschein.de, or an amazon.de voucher worth between €10 and €100. Above the selection field, you can see how much incentive budget you have left for your current contract term and when it will reset.

Use incentives when you’re reaching out to specific customers, for example in a personal email or during a customer meeting. They aren’t useful on social media or in paid ads, since you can’t control who clicks the link.

Step 4: Customize the invitation text

Under Personalisierte Einladung, write the text reviewers will see on the feedback landing page. It must be between 10 and 250 characters. A Vorschau appears on the right, showing how your text will look alongside the standard notice about login, review, and feedback. You can return to the original version at any time by selecting „Standardtext wiederherstellen".

Use the space to explain why you’re asking for a review, not to describe your product. A sentence that explains the reason for the request works better than a general invitation.

Select „Kampagne erstellen" to create the campaign and get your own invitation link. You can use it in emails, newsletters, in-app messages, or customer meetings. All incoming reviews will be assigned to this campaign, so you can clearly track its success.

Get outdated reviews updated

Reviews that are more than 12 months old don’t count toward the current Top 100 Ranking. If the person who wrote one of these reviews updates it, it counts again at full weight using the new submission date.

The “Veraltete Bewertungen” tab in the Bewertungen & Kampagnen section, with filters and the “Bewertende kontaktieren” button.png

You’ll find the list under Software & Tools → dein Produkt → Bewertungen & Kampagnen, in the „Veraltete Bewertungen" tab.

Use the filters for Zeitraum, Use Case, Bewertung, Status, and Gesendet to narrow down the list before sending a reminder.

There are two limits to keep in mind when planning: you can send a maximum of three reminders per review, and at least 45 days must pass between reminders. The review must also be changed in at least one substantive way to count as updated.

For most providers with a longer history on OMR Reviews, this is the fastest way to improve their score. You’re already in touch with the reviewer, they know your product, and they don’t have to write a review from scratch. They just need to bring an existing review up to date.

Best practices

Start by following up on outdated reviews

  • Problem: Providers launch broad campaigns to get new reviews, even though several hundred existing reviews are losing weight without being put to use.
  • Approach: First check the number in the “Veraltete Bewertungen” tab and send reminders to the people who wrote those reviews before spending budget on new campaigns. Filter for reviews with high star ratings, as these have the greatest impact on your score.
  • Result: Updated reviews count at full weight toward the current ranking, without you having to persuade new customers.

Track your position, not just your rank

  • Problem: Your rank alone doesn’t tell you much about what to do next. Moving from rank 285 to rank 240 could be due to a single review or twenty.
  • Approach: Use „Meine Position" and look at the tools ranked just above you. Pin your key competitors so you can keep an eye on them in the comparison tab. Compare their star ratings and review counts with yours to work out whether you need more reviews or better-quality ones.
  • Result: You’ll know whether you need more reviews or should reach out specifically to satisfied customers, instead of collecting reviews blindly.

Start campaigns early in the year

  • Problem: Many providers wait until fall to get started, when the countdown in the dashboard is already short. Reviews take time, though, because they have to be checked and customers don’t respond right away.
  • Approach: Set up your Top 100 campaign at the start of the year and keep it running, rather than doing a one-off push just before the end of the year. Share the link at recurring touchpoints, such as onboarding emails, QBRs, and support email signatures.
  • Result: Reviews come in throughout the year, you don’t have to rely on one-off campaigns, and you can keep track of your progress in the dashboard.
