What is the AI Visibility Dashboard?

Monitor your brand's visibility in AI-generated answers from ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini to track competitive performance

Measure AI search: How often does your brand appear in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and more?

AI visibility describes how visible your brand is in the answers provided by generative AI search systems like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and AI Overviews. Instead of a list of links, buyers now get a summarized answer recommending a few providers while leaving others out. If you’re mentioned, cited, and described positively, you make the shortlist. If you don’t show up, buyers often won’t research you at all.

The AI Visibility Dashboard shows you how visible your brand really is in AI answers, where your competitors are performing better, and which sources AI models use to understand your category. It gives you an initial overview of your AI visibility without requiring you to commit to a dedicated tool.

The dashboard is an early indicator and diagnostic tool, not a replacement for a mature GEO/SEO strategy. If AI visibility is set to become a key channel for you, talk to your Customer Success Manager.

Why AI visibility matters now

Generative AI search has become part of the B2B software buying process. Buyers enter prompts like “Best BI tools for ecommerce,” “HubSpot alternative for DACH,” or “Which CRM integrates with X?” and expect a curated, well-reasoned recommendation in response. That answer acts like a mini-consultation and influences the buying decision early, long before the first sales conversation.

Three shifts make reporting necessary:

  • Recommendations instead of lists: AI models usually name only a handful of providers in each answer. If you’re not on that list, buyers won’t see you as an option.
  • Sources instead of keywords: AI answers are based on cited sources such as industry publications, listicles, and review platforms. The domains and pages cited determine how your brand is described.
  • Sentiment instead of position alone: A mention by itself isn’t enough. If AI models describe your brand negatively or hesitantly, that can affect buying decisions even if you’re mentioned often.

What the dashboard measures

The dashboard tests a curated set of prompts across multiple AI engines every day. For each answer, it records whether your brand appears, where it appears, the tone used to describe it, and which sources the AI cites.

Six AI engines are currently tracked:

  • Google AI Overview
  • Google AI Mode
  • Google Gemini
  • ChatGPT
  • Perplexity
  • Bing Copilot

Your prompt set is your lens. The dashboard metrics are based exclusively on the prompts you selected with your Customer Success Manager at the beginning. Different wording can produce different results. That’s why carefully choosing your queries is the most important first step toward meaningful insights.

Glossary: Key terms

  • Mention: Your brand is named in an AI answer, but not necessarily linked to. Mentions are the foundation of reach.
  • Citation: Your brand is cited with a link or source reference. Citations are more valuable than mentions because the AI model is actively recommending your content as evidence.
  • Detection Rate: The share of tests in which your brand appeared at all. It answers the question: do we show up for these prompts?
  • Visibility Score: An aggregated headline metric that combines Detection Rate and average position. Higher is better. A score of 100 is theoretically possible, but unrealistic in practice.
  • Average Position: The average rank at which your brand appears when it’s mentioned. Lower is better.
  • Top 3 Visibility: The share of tests in which your brand was among the top three recommendations. This is stricter than Detection Rate because only prominent placements count.
  • Sentiment Score: The tone used to describe your brand when it’s mentioned: positive, neutral, or negative. This metric is only meaningful when there are enough mentions.
  • Engine: A specific AI platform that tracked prompts are sent to, such as the ChatGPT GUI or Perplexity GUI.
  • Query: A single prompt from your set, such as “Best BI tools for ecommerce.”
  • Topic / Tag: A way to group your queries. Topics cover subject areas, while tags let you add your own labels.

What the dashboard doesn’t do

  • It doesn’t replace professional GEO or SEO consulting. The metrics show you the direction, not a complete strategy.
  • It doesn’t show the entire AI search market, only the part represented by your prompt set.
  • It isn’t an absolute assessment. Daily metrics fluctuate because AI models don’t respond deterministically. Trends over at least two to three weeks are more meaningful. You can expect to see the results of actions you take after at least three months.

Who benefits across your company

The dashboard isn’t just for marketing reports. Different teams get different benefits from it:

  • Marketing & Brand: See how your brand is perceived in AI searches and how campaigns or launches affect visibility and sentiment.
  • SEO & Content: Identify which pages and domains AI models use as sources, and where your own content is missing.
  • PR & Communications: Find out whether the industry publications that list your brand actually generate AI visibility.
  • Sales & Sales Enablement: Use AI visibility data to make a case against competitors in pitches.
  • Leadership: Track an emerging channel early, one that will become a key touchpoint in the buying process over the next few years.

Even if the first metrics look low, AI visibility is being shaped right now in most B2B categories. If you start tracking early, you’ll learn which levers work and can make targeted adjustments instead of waiting until competitors dominate recommendation lists.
